Hi!

I would like to share the Heartbreaker branding I worked on for FIFA Mobile Season 7. It is a pack program for Valentine's Day so I focused more on the fun and trendy part on visual side. Let's take a look from the beginning!

I did wide range of reference from Valentine to Sports in the early stage. A bunch of ideas came into my mind, here are some sketches:
To connect to the special day theme, I was thinking of some concept which can merge soccer ball with heart shape. The first 3 ideas are designed from a soccer ball, and add heart element on it. But I was looking for a more clean, sporty design so I moved to new ideas, v4 and v5. They both had potential on polishing, considering other art assets need to be developed from the branding, version 4 have more elements to dig into, so I moved on with this concept.

After the sketch settled, I started to find color palette reference. It is a good idea to use red and pink for Valentine theme, while I want more freshness, I chose a gradient combination of purple and pink, and picked a light yellow to add some sparks in the brand.  

With the color and the concept, the result came smoothly. I gave the heart frame a light glowing to create more legibility on a mobile screen size. For the background, I applied some pink grain texture to the patterns to make a 3D feeling while not distracting players from the main logo. I also added some small elements and use the yellow color to balance the corners.
